The making of Wildrootz denim

saving denim waste from landfills

Locally sourced

All denim jeans used for WR production are locally sourced from second-hand clothing warehouses or through donations. We work only with textiles that already exist, reducing the need for new production while minimizing waste.

All sourced denim is carefully selected for its quality before it moves into production. The denim is washed and dried locally, ensuring it’s clean, stable, and ready for the next step.

From here, the textiles are given new life by upcycling. Even though every piece begins with second-hand denim, the final result never looks recycled, but instead new and contemporary. This process of upcycling forms the foundation of every WILDROOTZ design.

Made by hand in Brooklyn, New York

In the WILDROOTZ Studio, the denim is cut apart and reassembled piece by piece, like a patchwork puzzle. Every placement is carefully considered, depending on the size and condition of the denim. Stains and tears are avoided, while fade marks and subtle signs of wear are preserved, carrying forward the story of the textile’s previous life.
Leftover production scraps are saved for patchwork accessories or interior projects, allowing every fragment to find a new purpose.

This is slow fashion

Every single pair of WR DENIM takes more than eight hours to create, not including sourcing, cleaning and transportation!

With each pair a one-of-a-kind creation, WILDROOTZ DENIM pieces are collectible wearable art, true denim couture.
